Chances are you found this page from “Googling” frantically for a reference script, sample code, or a done-for-you way out of the torturous GoDaddy 7-step certification process – I know I was!
If you’ve just spent the $150 for your year’s worth of api access (or plan to), I feel your pain. When searching for examples on how to use the domain reseller api, I found nothing but questions and freelance postings pleading for similar help. If you are in this same boat, fear not – there is a solution : ).
After painstakingly walking through hours and hours of soap interfaces, xml-to-object parsers, conflicting & vague “how to kinda do it” pdf documents (provided by GoDaddy themselves!), and reeling over the function calls, I had had enough. Through pure determination, I mustered up the willpower to not only complete the certification process, but to make it repeatable and as easy as possible for others to do the same.
I would be flat out lying if I told you it was a piece of cake and the amazing me can code everything imaginable -far from the truth. The documentation is extremely vague and painfully put together, requiring you to flip back and forth through 70+ pages to see each description of each step in the certification process and the massively incorrect examples they provide. If that wasn’t a big enough time sink, it takes sorting through 5-10 xml-to-object parsing classes to get a working prototype that can handle the strange xml responses the GoDaddy api calls return.
IMPORTANT – if you are thinking “I know what I’m doing – you just aren’t as talented as me”, be warned. If you think you have a soap library setup and a parser all set and ready to go, that’s fine by me – ahead of the rest. When it comes time to complete step 2, you’ll be wasting at least 3+ hours dancing around the correct way of organizing a shopper class, which fields to include – which are different than what they say – and dealing with the peculiar “do it right and remember the data for later, or else start over again” issues.
The Solution
I’ve taken the time to not only allow you to achieve a 60-second certification time, but have made a class and structure for every single datatype in the GoDaddy/Wild West domain api documentation. You’ll be able to see exactly how each call was made, with what data, using which functions, in the proper format for ease of use.
Above and beyond all that, I’ve heavily commented the processes and portions of the code to serve as an excellent reference to your development team. Watch the video here on the page to see the script in action, and how simple it will be. I’ve heard of people wasting 2+ months trying to figure out this certification process; please, please don’t be one of those people.
If you spend even 10 hours trying to figure this out, you’ve wasted your time and money. When doing business, time is money; you don’t have any to waste on silly certification nonsense.
The Script
While it’s value is well over $400 for the time it will save your company, I’m a reasonable guy : ). I understand you just spent $150 to gain access to the api in the first place, so I understand the hesitation to spend any more than necessary.
To both reimburse my time and vastly save yours, you can get this script and give it to your programmers as reference material for just $200. This is both a limited and time-sensitive offer, as I’m nearly giving it away at this price point.
What are you waiting for? Hurry up and get yourself certified for pete’s sake! The script is delivered immediately & automatically following completed payment.
